uploaded some pics from my first week in france! the house, family and dog are the sweetest.
I’m kind of exhausted after the first week of settling into the routine, etc., so just some dot points I can think of for some updates!
- there’s a beautiful massive forest near the house I can run in with the dog
- the town doesn’t have much itself, a bakery and a little grocery store, but a sweet little market every saturday morning for all kinds of goods – bakery is good also, fresh croissants in the morning.
- the next closest town is 15 mins away by tram, it’s beautiful !!! I love it (saint-germain). the castle is right near the exit from the tram, i’ll start running around here the park/castle here, it’s dreamy. you can sort of see the eiffel tower very very, very far in the distance across the seine.
- the family are so lovely, so so welcoming, and the house is a dream to live in. weekends are free, and weekdays I do school drop/pick ups and then make dinner for us all. days are free for exploring/reading/whatever!
- they’re (seemingly) enjoying my cooking so far, but i did make a huge batch of curry on the second night that was way too spicy for everyone – so, lots of leftover curry for me
- the dad runs a boxing class at the house every saturday, i joined today and it was hectic. had 3 pastries in preparation, probably necessary prep every saturday.
- sloooowly learning french, being around it so much is obviously a huge help, but it’s a rough language to learn. send me your thoughts and prayers !!
ok bye bye ❤
